Happy New Year!
Happy new year to everyone! Friends, family, loyal readers, colleagues and competitors!
As it is the first day of a brand new year, I’d like to bring up some food for thought: Why are we socially phobic of telling people when we are involved in multiple project and multiple income sources? Everyone knows the importance of diversification in a stock portfolio, but why not in our careers?
Income can come from many places; for John Chow 2007 has meant an explosion in revenue from his blog. Income can also come from rental properties, a day-job and freelance writing, to name a few. To some degree, many people I know are exposed to one or more of these at any point in time.
In today’s day and age, it is not strange (or at least shouldn’t be) to be involved in multiple projects and being dependent on multiple income sources. It just makes sense; when one falls away, at least you still making some money every month.
Blogging is a great tool, no… a FANTASTIC tool, for freelance writers to bridge the ‘dry spells’ oh-so-familiar in the freelance business. Although all that free time may make your schedule lean enough to make dating into your new full-time job, it would make more sense to make some money instead of just sitting around. Whether alone or with company. If, like for me, your new year’s resolution is to make more money and be more financially healthy, check out my recommended money makers for bloggers.
