How to Make Money at Home

The internet has made it possible for millions of people to say good-bye to their day job, and instead work from home . Armed with nothing more than a comfortable pair of PJs, a computer and an internet connection, anyone can make money online .
However, with the increasing interested in making money from home there has also been a flood of internet scams trying to take advantage of this trend.

Here is a list of legitimate websites connecting professionals with the global market place:

Get a Freelancer

Get a Freelancer
is free to join, and you only pay a small commission if you land a job and get paid for it. The site is a great place to start for professionals looking for web design, copywriting, freelance writing, programming, data entry and other jobs. Because there is a free membership option, there is less of a barrier to taking the plunge and actually start making money at home.

Some notable features:

  • Get a Freelancer offers a RSS feed that displays all new project in your area of expertise, so you don’t have to log in to the site every day to search.
  • There is a Gold Membership option for only $12 a month. This is optional, and all of the features of the sites are available for free, however the Gold Members do not pay any commissions on the income they receive through the website. If you are getting a large number of jobs, then paying the $12 a month would actually be cheaper than paying the commission on the money you make.

  • Here is a list of featured projects:

    Elance

Elance is a very large resource for freelance and work from home jobs. It is cheapest to sign up for a yearly subscription, but if you are concerned it may not be for you I recommend a three month subscription instead. I personally used Elance when I started my freelance writing career, and it provided me with full time work. I do think the subscription fees are a bit on the high side, but Elance does offer very good infrastructure and added services to make it worth it. In addition, my three months were paid for with the first project I did through Elance. It is overall a very professional site with a very large job database in areas such as writing, translation, web design, business consulting, administrative support, audio video & multimedia, legal and programming.

    WriterLance

WriterLance.com is a website for freelance writers. It is free to sign up, and over time this website has gotten quite a number of projects added to it. It is definitely worth checking if you are looking for freelance writing projects.
