Selling Text Links directly from your blog
To make money online with your blog you will need at least one (or both) of the following:
- Advertisers/Sponsors who buy text link ads on your blog
- Products to sell: either your own, or through affiliate programs
Now, the easiest way to attract sponsors and sell text links is through a service like Text Link Ads. You can read my post about making money with text link ads here. However, if your blog already receives a certain level of traffic, you could potentially attract sponsors on your own and set your own prices.
Now, how does one attract advertisers?
It starts out with an “advertising” page. You have to spell out what you are offering, the stats on your blog (google PR, alexa rank, number of visitors) and the price. This will cut down on the number of emails you will have to respond to from people who are not really interested, and just want to find out what you are charging for advertising on your website.
Approach Advertisers proactively
This may seem a daunting task, but offering text link ads for sale on forums like digital point can bring in quite a few leads. In addition, you can identify other websites that would benefit from a link on your blog by installing
. Let adsense get used to your blog’s content for a few days and then see which relevant ads show up. You can then proceed to contact the owners of these websites or blogs, and offer text link advertising in conjunction with the adsense that is already running.
