| I'm graduating on Mother's Day, next week. | | | | degree in twenty months online. And Whew! I am |
| Graduating as an adult rather than a young adult is | | | | excited. I have a new career to pursue or several |
| a blast. Everyone thinks it is phenomenal and I | | | | careers. But now why do I think it is a blast? It's |
| guess, with all the stuff, we as adults now know | | | | not just because I am older or we're older and |
| and have to do while going to school, it is | | | | nontraditional students. Yeah, that is what the |
| phenomenal. I'll take that. As opposed to the | | | | non-twenty year old college students are called; |
| young adult, it is just a given, if the parents are | | | | nontraditional. It's the first time it has nothing to |
| paying for all four years, and the grades are kept | | | | do with race. It has more to do with either your |
| up, then graduation is imminent. Being an | | | | age or whether there's a child in your life that is |
| established adult puts you into a whole other | | | | still at home. Both of those make for a |
| category. | | | | non-traditional student. |
| After all we have to juggle work, some people | | | | The blast part is finishing your degree and feeling |
| have kids, house or apartment payments, utility | | | | that sense of completion. I had of course, finished |
| payments and still others to pay for school, and | | | | all sorts of other things in my life and for the |
| they might even have a second job. Doing all of | | | | most part until three years ago, was alright about |
| that and still going to school makes the adult | | | | not having finished my degree, things change, as |
| more appreciative of each and every grade. I | | | | does life. Finishing this degree makes me feel |
| know I was. I'm sort of an overachiever | | | | wonderful. What I've found out over the course |
| perfectionist, so I would stay up late into the | | | | of my lifetime, is whatever I feel, the world will |

| and other times I was not. I never fully fell asleep, | | | | and I know the people I talk to, feel the same |
| but was asleep for 2 - 3 long seconds. | | | | way, too. Graduating as an adult is a blast! |
